What are the Register hardware specifications?

SumUp Register is a white, dual-sided, full HD display touchscreen point of sale. It includes a merchant display (31 × 22 × 13 cm) and customer display (20 × 14 × 7 cm) and durable die-cast aluminium stand. The combined weight of both displays is 3.2kg. SumUp Register is not battery-powered and must be connected to a power outlet.

No. SumUp Register is specifically designed to work seamlessly with the SumUp Customer Display for payments. Together, they create a fully integrated checkout experience to ensure smooth, fast, and secure transactions.

For tableside payments, you can connect SumUp Terminal or your smartphone via the SumUp app for Tap to Pay. Please note, SumUp Register is not compatible with our Solo card reader.

You can complete your SumUp Register setup with a printer, cash drawer, barcode scanner, Kitchen Display, or Self-Serve Kiosk.

To upgrade to POS Plus, simply go to your profile via the dashboard and navigate to the Settings menu. From there, select Subscriptions or Plans, then choose POS Plus and follow the prompts to join. You can also manage your plan via your app by clicking on any paid feature.

Register is designed to be quick and easy to set up. You can start preparing your POS even before the hardware arrives by creating your catalogue in your sumup.me dashboard.

Once your hardware is delivered, simply unbox it, log in, and you’re ready to start selling. The interface is intuitive and designed for immediate use — no extensive training required.

If you need assistance, our dedicated support team is available 24/7 for POS Plus users to help you with the initial setup and beyond.

The Epson printer is 127 x 127 x 130 mm in size and works with both Wifi and Bluetooth connectivity. An antibacterial coating provides protection against liquids up to IPX2 standards. It takes 80mm paper rolls, but with the ‘spacer’ you can also use 58mm paper rolls if you prefer. The printer handles everything from sales receipts and order tickets for efficient kitchen preparation to end-of-day or shift reports.
